Andrea Goldsmith is a Melbourne-based novelist. Her fifth novel, The Prosperous Thief, which covers the turbulent sweep of the 20th century through the lives of two very different Jewish families, was short-listed for the 2003 Miles Franklin award, while The Memory Trap (2013) was awarded the 2015 Melbourne Prize. Her new novel, Invented Lives, is a story of exile: exile from country, from home, from self.
